Date: Sunday, August 5th, 6-8 PM
Location: Freehand, 23 Lexington Avenue (between 23rd + 24th St), Studio Restaurant, second floor
In this 2-hour introductory class, you’ll learn the basics of modern calligraphy using a traditional nib and ink -- no legible handwriting required. After learning all about the calligraphy tools and working on basic strokes, you'll have a chance to experiment with your own style. You’ll create unique letterforms and style your own alphabet with lots of hands-on practice time and guided demonstrations and instruction. At the end of the session, all supplies will be yours to keep to continue practicing. Plus, enjoy drinks and snacks from the hotel’s amazing Studio all-day restaurant while you write! Grab a friend and come learn something new.
No need to bring anything! All materials included and yours to take home: pen, two nibs, ink and inkwell, full pad of paper, Sam’s workbook, and a tote bag to take it all home in.
Space is limited. Workshop registrations are non-refundable. Feel free to send a note to firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions! Can’t wait to see you there!
